In my home town

They are looking at me
Because I do stand out
And I am different
I have presence
I won’t assume it’s negative anymore
My heart is open
I regularly release my Shame
And my fear
I cannot be tamed
  My Movements are free
They are becoming a dance
I used to be so rigid
Ungrounded
Unhappy
I prance around
Tap my card on the machine with a flourish
It’s appreciated
I appreciate it
My body feels good
I breathe deep through moments of fear
I sing quietly to myself
I am open
I make connections
In a place where I used to be so afraid
Viscerally terrifying
The program that used to say
SHAME! DANGER! HIDE!
Would fear anyone I recognised
They might know what I  did
They were not lies,
Didn’t even run it
It wasn’t there
Just realised afterwards
One step at a time
I will shine
I am divine
Can’t know where I’m headed
Reality is a mystery
It’s all the same
We are all connected
Life is love
